An important message about water safety for Season 2012/2013

An important message to all Bondi members:
To all members, I would like to thank you for your commitment to ensure our world famous beach is kept safe this summer.

Many of you are aware of the risks associated when entering the water. This season we are required to follow strict water safety risk assessment procedures. At Bondi we must adhere to these procedures.  The policy affects each and everyone one of our members when conducting group water activities. You can read the policy and download the form, by clicking on this link: www.slsa.com.au/elements/FileDownload.aspx?id=289

It’s important to remember before entering the water:  Has your group conducted your Water Safety Risk Assessment? Do you have sufficient water safety personnel? Does your group know its limits? Is the water safe to enter? Have you followed instruction from your Patrol Captain? Are you wearing highly visible caps or vests?

If you are unfamiliar with the new procedures for water safety risk assessment, I encourage you to speak with any of our lead members within the Club. For example: your Patrol Captain; Lead Bronze Instructor; Director of Lifesaving; Competition; Education; Nippers, and find out more. Our Club leaders are here to help. By staying informed, we can ensure are beach remains safe this season, 2012/2013.

To all of our valued members, be vigilant, remain safe and have fun.
